Elkhart Breakfast Optimists

Who we are:

The Elkhart Breakfast Optimist Club was chartered in 1965 and sponsored by the Elkhart Evening Optimist Club in an effort to expand Optimist International in our community.  We all share a common interest in supporting the Youth of our area.

Optimist Clubs are serious about "Bringing Out the Best in Kids" and we do our part through community service projects.  Optimist Clubs see a need in their community and react to it.  Each year our intention is to raise enough funds to support our community service projects that include: scholarships, bicycle safety program, participation in Breakfast with Santa, annual Oratorical Contest, Youth in Government, donating to the Red Cross, Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowling, Child abuse prevention and giving to a food pantry.

The membership of our club consists primarily of community leaders, business people, homemakers and retirees who know that by giving of ourselves, we are able to enrich, encourage and enhance the lives of the children of our community.

We currently meet each Tuesday at Pumpernickel's, 500 S. Main Street in downtown Elkhart, at 6:45 am.  We have interesting speakers scheduled at each meeting to inform, educate or entertain our membership and serve the needs of our Youth.
